Those who have fled violence and persecution are among the most vulnerable and least supported members of our communities. Many have survived extreme injustice and abuse, and some have been further harmed during perilous journeys to the United States. Most arrive alone, leaving behind their homes, livelihoods, and families. Even upon arrival, they often face the daunting task of seeking protection and stability.
To alleviate these challenges, HRC provides the following free services to individuals in the Bay Area:
- Forensic Medical & Psychological Evaluations: We work with local legal representatives and advocacy groups to provide individuals with supporting medical and psychological evidence of the abuses they have endured.
- Linkages to Primary Medical & Referral Services: We also serve as an initial point of contact for those seeking care, helping to connect them to essential medical services, support navigating public benefits, and linking them to psychological support.
