PTR Receives Honorable Mention from United Nations Association East Bay

una-usa-east-bayscreen-shot-2016-09-20-at-12-29-03-pmPartnerships for Trauma Recovery received an honorable mention from the from the United Nations Association of the United States of America East Bay Chapter (UN-USA East Bay) for our outstanding work in the realm of human rights and refugee trauma care. PTR will be officially recognized at their annual UN Day Celebration Dinner: “Honoring Humanitarian Heroes” on Sunday, October 23rd,2016 from 5-8:30p.m. at the International House at UC Berkeley. The UN Association East Bay’s Global Citizen Awards are granted to organizations for their outstanding achievements in assisting people who have been displaced, victimized by violence, or threatened by genocide. Organizations nominated for these awards provide services such as safe refuge, resettlement services, survival services, ensuring access to medical care, and preventing the abuse of girls and women. In the words of the UNA East Bay President:   

“I wanted to emphasize how impressed we are with the important work that you and your team are performing.  Highly laudable, and worthy of expansion as well as greater recognition within our community.” – Herb Behrstock, President and Executive Committee member of UN Association East Bay


The UN-USA East Bay, formed in 1983, is one of 135 chapters nationwide that works to build understanding of and support for the mission and values of the UN within the communities of Alameda and Contra Costa County. PTR is grateful to have been nominated for this distinguished award and thanks UNA East Bay for their commitment to healing human rights abuses and their important work to create global citizens and achieve peace through education, policy and advocacy within the local community.
